Strengths/Weaknesses Exercise

Strengths are those qualities about ourself that serve us well. Other people might admire us for them and we feel good when we are letting these qualities shine. Examples include "caring about others" or "thinking out of the box" or "being independent." They are a combination of values and skills -- and usually come to mind easily (though others often see quailites in us that we aren't even aware of).

Weaknesses are the opposite of strengths. They are those qualities about ourself that do not serve us well. Other people do not admire us for them and we don't feel good when we are demonstrating these qualities. Examples include "being impatient" or "letting other people hurt us" or "not trusting others." Weaknesses are often tied to needs we may have and usually highlight growth opportunites for us. They usually come to mind easily -- though others often see some weaknesses in us that we aren't aware of.
